Creating a High Performance Culture

Client: Multinational Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Company

Challenge

The Board were seeking to develop the existing company culture into a more dynamic and high performance oriented one.

The company was succeeding in implementing efficient processes, but due to the differences between four global business units in their approach to monitoring and rewarding performance, the commitment to high performance lacked strength and coherence.

To bring clarity and inspire momentum, we worked closely with the Board in testing and defining different performance models.

Approach

PERFORMANCE BENCHMARKING ANALYSIS: Extensive review of how other top global companies defined, measured and drove high performance.

EXEMPLAR CASE STUDIES: After identifying eight different performance models, we developed a case study for each, examining their merits and issues, to help bring the findings to life.

EXECUTIVE BOARD WORKSHOP: After refining our findings with the leadership team, we facilitated a full-day Executive Board workshop to present our recommendations and agree a strategy and implementation plan.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT STRATEGY: New strategy developed and agreed, building on workshop outputs.

Outcome

  • Board level understanding of the drivers of a high performance culture and the implications for the development of their own business

  • New performance management strategy developed and agreed
