World at work - posted May 2011

We are currently working for a US based, global client on an in depth project to understand the changing dynamics of work. We are approaching the challenge from two ends – first from a corporate perspective looking at how today’s corporations create value, how that is changing and the implications for how those changes influence the way they manage, develop and enable their people. Second, from the employee perspective, understanding what’s important to them, what motivates them, what they need to make them productive, energised and fulfilled in their careers. In the course of the project we are interviewing a number of senior players in industry across a range of sectors and leading academics in the areas of organisational psychology and sociology.

We think that the world is undergoing a seismic change in how work, works – it’s a fascinating topic with deep implications for strategists, managers, HR departments and product developers.
